Last Night

My wife and I treked to Scenic Drive in El Paso on our last night in the Sun City. I lived most of my life in this city and never did I travel to this point to take a picture.

Which brings me to my point.

If you have lived in a place all your life you should try to look at your surroundings however mundane with the eyes of a tourist. See, I have seen this sight of downtown so many times but not like this. So what was once old is new again.

I hope to keep this perspective and mindset when I return to work from vacation.

Lately I've been having a lot of problems with opening my eyes to my surroundings and seeing them in a new light. At one time it was easy for me. I'm hoping that the change of the season will help. I tend to have a better attitude and an open mind in the fall. Maybe I need to leave for a while or put blinders on to help refresh the brain.

That's the hard part. I think some of it is based on laziness or bad habits and also recognizing that there might not be a good picture in something we see but there is still a picture to be made even if it doesn't follow the rule of thirds, or fall into any of the composition categories.
